Why is it, that it seems that men decide what is womens fashion, maybe because if they thought we did it we would design clothes that were not only comfortable to wear but attractive to us as well, instead of being attractive to them. They may not be wrong there, we do not dress up for men to look at us but so that other women can be envious of our obvious good looks and taste and if men pay attention as well then that is just a bonus.
They must also think however that we will wear any old get up just because it has a fancy name on it and I am very ashamed to say that this seems to be the case. That if the designer is famous enough and the garment costs so much that there isn’t even a price tag, then the women will flock and twitter, credit cards will be golden bees buzzing through the air and piles of clothes will be added to an already stuffed walk in perfect logo branded aprons never to be seen again. Next season they will be complaining how they didn’t know what they were thinking when they bought that outfit and it hasn’t even been worn.
That is the problem right there, they aren’t thinking, the female is out in the commercial world amongst social peers, determined to show how much style and grace they have by purchasing everything that is in at once and the pattern will repeat itself the next week. This is a bit stereotypical and there are very smart rich women who wear what suits them and buy when they need a new outfit and not to succumb to social pressures but the majority of rich wives seem to need more and more and it doesn’t matter how silly or stupid the outfit looks as long as it has the right name then they are ready to tackle the parties and dinners that will show how socially superior they are. What boggles the mind is that half the clothes you see in the exclusive stores are copied in the department store and are nearly a give-away in comparison, the fabrics might be cotton instead of silk, the label will have washing instructions on it and no fancy name and yet it will look just as good, better in fact because you know it is going to last you and that paying fifty dollars for a dress is worth the money. It will last for a good couple of years and it will be a favourite.
This is the bonus of not having too much money, you get to bond with your clothes and have favourite outfits that really suit you and that you continually trot out and no one says anything about it, they love that look on you and compliment you on the style every time they see it, there is no shame in wearing something a hundred times over the course of five years.
